Pieter Bruegel the Younger (c. 1564-1638) built his career primarily on creating versions of his late father's, Pieter Bruegel the Elder's, compositions. However, he also painted numerous works of his own, often depicting scenes of Flemish peasants engaged in lively activities, such as merrymaking and carousing. Despite his reliance on his father's legacy, he left a notable mark on the art world through his own interpretations and contributions to the depiction of everyday life in Flanders during his era.
