Joseph Mallord William Turner (1775-1851), often referred to as J.M.W. Turner, was a renowned Romantic painter from England. He had exceptional ability to convey the effects of light, color, and atmosphere in his landscapes, seascapes, and historical scenes and as such he is recognized as a pivotal figure in the transition from Romanticism to Impressionism in the art world.
