Giovan Battista Trotti, better known as Malosso, was a prominent Italian painter active in Lombardy during the late 16th and early 17th centuries. A pupil of Bernardino Campi, he became a leading figure in Cremonese art, known for his dramatic compositions, vibrant color palette, and densely populated religious scenes. His works reflect the expressive energy of late Mannerism, often tailored to the spiritual aims of the Counter-Reformation. Among his major commissions is the Martyrdom of Saint Felicita (1607) in the Duomo of Salò.
